A gift from Father Time...

Happy New Year guys! So today being a bank holiday has been a very lazy day for me. Plenty of online browsing time where I stumbled upon this beautiful range of watches by Olivia Burton.
Created by a lovely duo in London I have to say their watches are just divine.

They do have a few online stockists which is handy for people like me who live in the dark depths of Aberdeen!
There are so many I have fallen in love with but I think my favourite so far is this one from the Woodland collection with a Cognac strap.
Olivia Burton Watch, Woodland Collection.
I have always been instantly in love with anything with a butterfly! From looking at the various stockists I can gather prices are in the region of about £51 for the larger faces and £42 for the smaller (flower shop collection).
Sadly a watch like this will have to go on my "I wish I could afford this list". Will just have to keep do with my Urban Outfitters, falling apart at the seams (literally) watch until I graduate!

Lusting After Military Style

So I was at work last night and admiring a co-workers skirt and then things happened in my head and now I suddenly am in need of a whole outfit as opposed to one skirt! You know how it happens.
So here is my military inspired wishlist.
Skirt Oasis, £43, Shirt Topshop, £34, Shoes New Look, £24.99, Belt Topshop, £16
I've never really gone done the military route before, usually just stick to the more classic English rose girly look, but I think this outfit might be fun!
Sadly the skirt is of course out of stock in my size at the moment online, which is annoying because they have 20% off at the moment :( Anyway I think I will need to sell some stuff in order to afford it, there is still a week to go till pay day. If only I had money!

Yet another sorry for myself purchase...

So yesterday I popped into town to get my lunch from Pret a Manger...nomnomnom, loving the festive chocolate star on top of my hot chocolate.

Anyway being a poor student and having foolishly spent a large amount of my budget till the next lot comes on Friday I felt I needed perking up and decided to treat myself to a lipstick in Boots. (I know not the logic of someone who is poor, but there was an offer on and I "needed" some primer also).
So I treated myself to this lovely Kate Moss Matte lipstick for Rimmel.

Kate Moss for Rimmel Matte Lipstick Shade 101, £5.49

I usually go for lipstick with a bit of a shine to it but I am liking the way this matte kind looks too and it doesn't show up all the cracks on my lips like the Sleek gloss. I love the feel of the case and the cute Kate signature on it. Being bright red it is much less likely to get lost in the depths of my handbag!!
My only downside, and I find this with other Rimmel lipsticks too, is that they seem to have an very overpowering scent/odour to them. It's almost like those little purple violet sweets you used to get at parties when you were little! Is it just me?!
All in all though the whole trip cheered me up heaps :)

Ciate Caviar Nails

WANT WANT WANT these!!
Dahlia fashion have teamed up with Ciate nails for their new competition. I must admit I had never heard of them before but their nail varnishes are divine! Just look at this caviar nail set.

Caite nails, Caviar manicure set in black pearl £18
You paint the polish on and then sprinkle the beads over the wet polish to create the 3D effect. I have to say its unlike anything I have ever seen. Sadly it is out of stock at the moment :( but when it is back and I am feeling a bit more rich and in need of a treat I'm definitely getting my hands on one of these!
Ciate Mini Mani Month, £38

I have also been admiring their velvet nail kit and mini mani month which is an advent calender full of nail varnish. Truly a girls best friend!

Pixie Lott for Rock n Rose

When I got the email this morning for early access to Pixie Lott's collection for Rock N Rose I was looking forward to seeing what she had come up with. Her range for Lipsy was stunning and I have been a long term, loyal customer at Rock N Rose. However I have to say I am seriously disappointed, nothing stands out from what is already available on the market at the moment.
I find the floral crowns to be too similar to those already sold at Rock N Rose, and the cocktail rings are very similar to rings that are well known to be Pixie's favourite piece by them. The rest is an abundance of cross themed jewelry with giant bow and cat ear headbands thrown in for good measure.

Pixie Lott for Rock N Rose, NOEMI, Set of three midi knuckle rings, £18

The only thing that mildly appealed to me were these cute midi knuckle rings, but I have to say I do not understand the concept. Surely these just fall off your fingers?!
To be honest, I am tired of all this gothic cross and spike trend at the moment. And cat ears should NOT be worn beyond halloween....
Please someone come up with something different?!

Truly Mattely Deeply in Love With This!

I have to say I am very pleased with this new lipgloss I purchased on Friday. It is from the Sleek limited edition Shangri-La collection.

Unlike the usual gloopy lip-gloss that sticks to your hair on a windy day this one goes on Matte so there is no horrible gloop just a lovely matte colour. I like to gloss over it and give it a bit of a shine with the balm end of my 1000 kisses lip tint by Rimmel. My only down side is that if your lips aren't fully moisturised and a bit dry (as mine are prone to) it highlights every crack so I would advise popping on the vaseline a few minutes before.
I am such a fan of Sleek make-up, definitely my new favourite brand. I just wish this one wasn't limited edition! Sadly it only comes in two shades :(

Repair my hair!

I was gutted not to be invited for the new BzzCampaign for John Frieda Full Repair range. However I have already been using a couple of the products in the range as they were on offer at Sainsburys.
Unfortunately being a poor student I cannot afford to get my hair cut as often as I would like and being a regular user of hair straighteners it is starting to look more than tired. As my ends are generally the worst I opted to try the perfect ends deep infusion and the deep conditioner.

I have to say I am impressed with the deep infusion! My ends are looking healthier and feeling much less dry and coarse. As my hair is quite thick and quite damaged I tend to use more than the recommended one pump, but I have been using it after every wash with great results. The mask seems just like any other hair mask to me (I use quite a few regularly) but I have only tried it once or twice.
Will certainly have to try the shampoo and conditioner next time I run out! It's certainly worth it to avoid the price of haircuts!
